The exhibition highlights different aspects of cattle breeding as agricultural engineering and livestock farming. The breeding of Brown Swiss cows is an old tradition in the canton of Zug which is traditionally an agriculturally shaped region. As well the exhibitions shows how the treatment of the cattle is changing in time, what “breeding” really means and which techniques are used. In addition to this, the exhibition points out how cows became the unofficial Swiss national animal and what is the significance of the “Stierenmarkt” in Zug today and in the past. Another aspect is how cows “are working” – how much do they eat and drink and how must cows be cared?

The special exhibition is designed not only for people interested in agriculture but for the general public and especially for families with children.
