ZUG Castle

Mission statement

Zug Castle with its picturesque grounds and atmospheric interior is a landmark of the City of Zug. It houses a small but exquisite museum run by the "Zug Castle Museum Foundation" which in turn is supported by the city, canton and municipal authorities.

The museum carries the educational remit outlined by the authorities of Canton Zug and helps to promote its identity. As a centre of competence it maintains and unlocks tangible and intangible cultural heritage from Canton Zug ranging in date from the Middle Ages to the present day. It vividly conveys information about the past in order to promote a better understanding of the present, thereby making a contribution towards the shaping of the future.

The museum aims to appeal to all sections of society and to people of all ages.

The museum fulfills its mandate in a professional manner. The staff are dedicated, critical, enthusiastic and creative. Their work is characterised by a respectful approach towards the subjects dealt with, the museum visitors and towards the other members of the team.

Zug Castle is a place of hospitality and positive experiences which invites vistors to relax and immerse themselves in a different world.
