Families and children aged 6 and above are warmly invited to join Ita and the adventurous hen Berta on a journey back to the distant Middle Ages. Together, they will travel from the city to the countryside and back again. An eventful journey through time, full of exciting and surprising discoveries.

Accompanying the special exhibition «hǒus, tǒun, fẹ̄ld – the Middle Ages in central Switzerland», the museum sets up a medieval workshop. On selected Wednesday afternoons, the workshop will offer young and old alike the opportunity to experiment, try things out and slip into the role of medieval craftsmen and women.
Learn about typical materials and techniques of the Middle Ages. Find out how a stonemason worked his stones without modern machines, how laborious it was to make your own spoon, why salt was so precious and how difficult it was to write with a quill and ink!
