Church pew plaque for city clerk Joachim Anton Bossard zur unteren Münz (1767–1820) and his wife, Maria Brigitta Müller ab Roost (1772–1841), also known as Verena Josepha Birgita Bossard, née Müller ab Roost.
Rectangular wooden plaque with the Bossard-Müller arms of alliance on a grey background at the top, with a crown above and fronds on either side, and an inscription and date in black on a white background at the bottom. It reads “3 states for Herr city clerk / Bossart, and his wife / Frau, Maria. Brigitta Müller / ab Roost. / In the year 1790”. The back of the plaque bears information about the couple in black handwriting: “Three / church pew plaque for / [illegible, “Herr”?] city clerk / Joachim Anton Bossard zur / untern Munz married to / Mar Birgitta. née Müller, daughter / of Ammann (local administrator) and banneret. / Franz Michael Müller Lord of the Majorat / [illegible, “ab”?] Roost Zug.” The plaque is enclosed in a narrow golden metal frame with a foliated frieze and on the reverse has a suspension loop at the top.
City clerk Joachim Michael Anton Bossard (1767–1820) was married to Verena Josepha Birgita Bossard, née Müller ab Roost (1772–1841) and was the great-grandson of baker Franz Michael Bossard (4/3/1713–11/6/1774).
